Programs and Activities Special programs: The Stonewall Garden began in 1996 from grants and donations. It has grown into a 20,000 square foot outdoor science lab. An herb garden, wildscape, greenhouse, pond, rockscape and a compost area complete the lab. Parent Involvement Parents are encouraged to become members of the Stonewall Jackson PTA and The Dads Club. Your dues directly help our campus. They offer programs and speakers that help parents assist their children in achieving success in school. The PTA and Dads Club sponsors more than 30 programs and activities, including the Fall Carnival, Mini-Grants for Faculty, After-School Program, Field Day and many more art, cultural and academic programs. Meetings are held throughout the school year on the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m Major Awards and Honors The tradition of excellence and the diversity of cultures make an education at Stonewall Jackson a unique learning experience. Over the years, faculty and staff have received DISD annual awards for their teaching, staff, and administrative functions.
